Zira leads country research and drives dissemination and uptake of open data projects. Before joining NRGI, Zira worked as a consultant on several donor-funded mining, oil and gas, and power programs in Nigeria, Afghanistan and Ukraine
Zira specializes in developing and strengthening fiscal regimes for extractive industries. Additionally, he has worked on designing downstream policies in Nigeria’s mining and oil & gas sectors. Zira holds an M.S. in applied economics from Colorado School of Mines, and a B.S. in management information systems from Girne American University.
